Margaret Cuomo, Board-certified Radiologist, Author
Registration required for each event
When it comes to tackling cancer and eradicating it for good, Margaret Cuomo, MD has set forth a plan to change the status quo. Having experienced the loss of many friends and members of her family to cancer, Dr. Cuomo has observed first-hand the issues related to current treatment methods. Recognizing the lack of significant progress in the prevention of cancer, she wrote A World Without Cancer, which reveals how profit, politics, and personal ambition have hindered progress in cancer research and in cancer prevention. The book is a call to action that will empower all stakeholders – the pharmaceutical industry, the government, physicians, and all concerned Americans – to transform the way we view and fight cancer.
A board certified radiologist, Dr. Cuomo’s affiliations include American Association of Women Radiologists, American College of Radiology, Long Island Radiological Society, Nassau County Medical Society, New York State Radiological Society, New York State Medical Society, and Radiological Society of North America. She is an Honoree of Association of Italian American Educators (2003, 2005), and an Honoree of National Organization of Italian American Women (2004). In 2011, Dr. Cuomo was awarded the “Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta’ Italiana” (2011), the “Commendation of the Order of the Star” conferred by the President and Prime Minister of Italy.
