Fatigue Fighting Exercise

Fatigue is a common side effect of cancer and its treatment that can remain even after treatment is completed. Join Tracy Lester MS, Exercise Physiologist and certified Cancer Exercise Trainer, to learn how exercise can help fight cancer-related fatigue. Each class will include education and gentle instructor-led exercises intended to reduce cancer-related fatigue. These classes are appropriate for cancer survivors currently undergoing treatment or those who recently completed treatment but are still experiencing fatigue. You’re told you are a cancer survivor, but what does that mean to you? Treatment is over and everyone around you believes you are “back to normal”, but inside you know that life has changed in profound ways. Based on the book, Picking up the Pieces: Moving Forward After Surviving Cancer, by Sherri Magee, PhD and Cathy Scalzo, MS, OD. This 4 week series will guide you as you take a deeper look at physical, emotional, spiritual and relationship changes with the intention of moving forward and healing. Open to anyone who has completed treatment. Attendance each week is encouraged for the full benefit of the program.
Introduction to Stress Reduction
Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life. A cancer diagnosis along with facing everyday life stressors can be very challenging especially if you do not have a stress reduction strategy that works for you. The first step of this 4 week series involves identifying the sources of stress in your life and how you presently manage them through your behavior, attitude, and emotions. This series will help you find new ways to look at and manage stress in your life as you create a plan that works for you. Best results obtained by attending each week.
